Dreams

I’m reading a book right now by John Maxwell called Put Your Dreams To The Test and I just wanted to share real quick my favorite quotes so far from the book. I’m learning to follow my dreams and how to define them as mine and not somebody else’s. It is easy to get excited about someone else’s dream and to work in it as if it’s your own. It is harder though to own your own dream, to lay claim to it, to nurture it, to birth it. It shouldn’t be hard but it is at least for a person like me who focuses so much on making everyone else happy around me and sometimes forgets that my dreams and desires in life are just as important. So here are my favorites so far…..

“A dream is an inspiring picture of the future that energizes your mind, will and emotions, empowering you to do everything you can to achieve it.” John Maxwell

“A dream worth pursuing is a picture and blueprint of a person’s purpose and potential.” John Maxwell

“A dream is the seed of possibility planted in the soul of a human being, which calls him to pursue a unique path to the realization of his purpose.” Sharon Hull

“Dreams come a size to big so we can grow into them.” Actress Josie Bisset

I love all four of these quotes. I’m so happy to finally be dreaming again, which I have to thank my husband for because he has always believed in my dreams even before I realized what they were.

  1. Lovely quotes indeed! It’s also good to know that your husband believes in your dreams. It’s good to have a companion that supports and encourages your dreams, goals and plans, achieving them becomes a walk-over. “Two are better than one…” (the right two). Thanks for sharing!

    • It is really nice to know he believes in my dreams. I didn’t always feel that way, but as I continue to work on myself I’ve realized that he has always been there. He was the victim of my insecurities, I put my self-doubt onto him unfairly. Not anymore though. I see things much more clearly now.
